I found some prom dresses in the back of the closet.
I got it at Macy's. The budget for all of my prom/dance dresses was always $100 so it either cost that much or less. It's made by Niki by Niki Livas. 75% rayon and 25% polyester with a 100% acetate lining. Size 4. Made in Guatemala.

I also got this dress when I was in high school. I bought it while I was at the beach from one of the stores along the boardwalk. It was between $15-$20. I wore it to the beach but haven't worn it since. I honestly have no idea why I still have it. When I was in my senior year of high school I used to wear animal prints but I haven't since then. The material is very comfortable and feels like it would make a good nightie to sleep in. Maybe I kept it with the idea that I would use it as a night gown. Either way, I have not worn it in over 10 years. The front is a cheetah print and the back is black. It's made by Elan Wear. 90% polyester and 10% spandex. Size L. Made in the USA.
Dress #44 Not Worn
I got this dress when I was in high school. When I was a senior in high school I used to wear a lot of black skirts and boots (I liked velvet, vinyl and pleather). I did a lot of shopping at a store in the mall called Rave. All of the clothes in there were cheap for a teenager's budget. I think this dress was between $10-$15. I don't actually remember if I ever wore it to school. It's kind of a night out type of dress. I do remember wearing it when I was in college in Boston. A bunch of friends and I went to a goth night club called Manray. Originally I was wearing a long black skirt but I told them I brought a second outfit option that was in my purse (the dress is tiny and takes up basically no room). They laughed and said if I had an outfit that fit in my purse then that's the one to wear into the club so I changed in the car right before we went in. It's made by Rave City. 100% polyester. Size M. Made in the USA.

The last time I remember wearing this outfit was to a company Christmas party in 2006. I thought the red was festive for Christmas back then, but now I think the shirt is a little bit too low cut and the outfit kind of makes me look like a witch. The Christmas party was during my first year at the company and the party was held at Maggiano's in The Grove. I got a little tipsy and fell out of my chair during the party. All my co-workers thought it was so funny and joked about it at every employee social gathering and party thereafter until I moved on to another job. The skirt was free. I got it out of a clothing donation bag. We went over to one of my co-worker's houses during our lunch break to go through clothes she was donating. The material is stretchy and form fitting. I used to wear it to work there. It's very comfortable. It's made by Express Tricot. 88% Tactel Nylon and 12% Lycra Spandex. Size S. Made in the USA.
I got the shirt right before I moved to LA from Boston from Filene's Basement. I don't remember how much it cost but it couldn't have been more than $20. I loved the color and the sleeves. I've actually worn the shirt a few times to more dressy events. I still like it but I think it's too low cut for me now and the waistline of the shirt is very loose fitting. It's made by Hot Tempered. The body is 46% polyester, 46% rayon and 8% spandex. The trim is 45% acetate and 55% rayon. Size M. Made in the USA.
I used to own a couple of long skirts with slits on the side. I always wore them with my knee high boots. I bought these boots specifically to wear with those skirts. I like them because the heel is very low (about 2 1/2 inches). I got the boots from zappos.com for between $30-$20. They're called Junipar Black Distress. Made by Annie.

I got this dress from Target back in 2010. I think it was $15. I only remember wearing it once to Universal Studios that same year. I liked the idea of a white sundress and think it's a cute dress but honestly I don't really like how the fit is on me. I feel like it just doesn't sit right on top. Universal was fun to visit but the park is basically empty. There's only a couple of rides. They always do a buy a day, get the rest of the year free pass just to get people to go. The dress is covered in white dots on the material and has a ruffled bottom on the skirt. It's made by Faded Glory. 100% cotton. Size 10. Made in India.

Dress #32
We had an end of the summer BBQ at work and I wanted to wear something summery for it. Our company used to have BBQs and pancake breakfasts pretty often but I think because the company grew so much they've really toned it down. They did two BBQs this year and one pancake breakfast. The company BBQs are really good. It's Brazilian and they do all kinds of meats and sides. It's a great time for co-workers to relax and mingle plus people can invite their spouses and kids.
I wore my blue green summer dress. I got it in Santa Barbara. Joe and I went there for a day to go wine tasting and check it out. We went to the Santa Barbara Museum of Art. They had an exploding flowers photography exhibit by Ori Gersht where the artist freeze dried flowers and then blew them up. I thought it looked really cool. They also had an interesting painting by Salvador Dali called Honey is Sweeter than Blood. It stood out to me from across the room even before I knew it was a Dali painting. I always loved his style. We went to the turtle watching area and got some chocolate from a local sweet shop there. At the turtle pool there was a stupid parent who wasn't watching or disciplining his kid. The kid was walking along the fountain edge and touching and smacking at the turtles. At first I thought the kid was alone but then I saw the parent was off to the side not paying attention or doing anything to discipline the kid. I really hate it when bad parents just let their kids ruin property and hurt animals. That just makes me so mad. Since we came to Santa Barbara for wine tasting, we had a wine flight in one of the wine stores in the area. I thought there'd be wine tasting everywhere but we didn't really see that many places. The specialty flight was various Syrah wines. After the tasting I determined that I do not like Syrah wine at all. It's way too earthy. I felt like I was drinking dirt. I could see how it would go well with mushrooms but I really don't like mushrooms at all either.
We didn't really feel like we had our fill of wine tasting (something Santa Barbara is known for) so we decided to drive further out to see if we could find an actual winery. We headed toward Solvang (a Danish themed town north of Santa Barbara) and along the way we stopped at a vineyard but it was closed for a private wedding event. We ended up at Solvang and decided to do wine tasting there. Basically every other store in Solvang is a wine tasting room. Each flight offers six tastes as opposed to the standard three. We walked around going into three different tasting rooms which ended up being a really bad idea because we got totally hammered. The last wine tasting room we stopped at had a port wine served inside of a chocolate shot glass. It was delicious and a great way to end our wine tasting adventure. However, we were too drunk to drive home. We both ended up falling asleep in the car. The whole town seemed to close pretty early so there wasn't really any place to go inside and wait it out. After our little nap we started out back toward home, but saw an old mission on the way out of town. It was called Santa Ines Mission and Joe wanted to check it out. The sun was setting and it was about to close but we took a quick tour. The sunset cast a pinkish sky and glowing hue over the valley by the mission and we took a few pictures. It was so pretty and a perfect way to end our daily outing.
